ASLA Expo Recap

After a long stretch of cancelled tradeshows and virtual meetings, Keystone Ridge Designs was back in person at the recent ASLA Expo in Nashville, TN! The American Society of Landscape Architects hosted their annual Conference on Landscape Architecture on November 19th – 22nd with a focus on “Designing Shared Spaces.” We were grateful for the opportunity to meet with clients and exhibit new products to help inspire the design of those spaces. Read on for a recap of this highly-anticipated event.

The Booth

Our triumphant return to exhibiting called for a new booth background display! The full-color graphics of our display featured onsite photography of our Creekview table and benches in a modern landscape. The products pictured not only highlighted a popular product series but also showcased the realistic wood-grain tones of our KeyshieldArt slats. This became an excellent talking point to discuss the applications of wood-grain aluminum versus Ipe wood.

The Products

We planned our booth products to exclusively exhibit our brand-new Enzo series. The ASLA Expo marked the official launch of this stunning collection of products that included a bench with back, flat bench, and rectangular table set. Shown with Ipe, but having the ability to customize with wood-grain aluminum or recycled plastic slats, these products received rave reviews from visiting landscape architects for both commercial and residential settings.

To offer a coordinating trash unit, the Carson litter receptacle was on display as well, showing an example of how KeyshieldArt can also be used to customize Trash, Recycle or Compost signage.

The Staff

We had an all-star team of sales and support personnel at the event. For many of our booth staff, it was their first ASLA tradeshow so it became a crucial learning experience to connect with members of the landscape architecture community and immerse themselves in the hot topics and concerns of public spaces today. As a company, we strive to be a resource of product and industry information so we actively sought product feedback and participated in educational sessions to broaden our knowledge of the field and current trends.

The Fun

The Music City itself offered plenty of fun and entertainment to make for an exciting trip. We channeled that spirit by serving some spirits of our own during the Alumni Tailgate portion of the expo. In true Tennessee fashion, we offered a whiskey, bourbon, and moonshine tasting in our booth. With local selections and unique flavors, our booth became a busy spot to meet and greet. As a bonus for visiting us, we were handing out custom branded shot glasses. The tasting was definitely a great way to generate some buzz about our new products!

Reflecting on the event, it was great to be back exhibiting in person, reconnecting with old friends, and beginning new relationships. We extend our kudos to the ASLA team for planning and executing a fantastic show. It was inspiring to see the passion among the attendees to think creatively about outdoor spaces, collaborate on new ideas, and share recent successes. We’re looking forward to doing it all over again next year in San Francisco!
